Turning complex data into clear, actionable stories for decision-makers across healthcare, retail, banking, media, and entertainment.

About Me

Background

I’m a data analyst with a curious mind, a passion for solving complex problems, and a lifelong drive to keep learning. My journey started in India, continued through my childhood in Nigeria, and brought me to Canada over two decades ago to earn a degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology.

At 21, I founded a private high school—an experience that taught me leadership, adaptability, and data-driven decision-making early on. I’ve since worked as a media manager for a national publication, toured as a sound engineer with a Juno Award–winning band, and produced documentaries in British Columbia, all of which strengthened my ability to translate raw information into stories and insights.

For the past several years, I’ve built a career in quality engineering across automotive and aerospace, honing my skills in root-cause analysis, process optimization, and measurement systems. Today I apply that same precision to data: uncovering patterns, forecasting outcomes, and guiding smarter business decisions.

Flu Season Staffing

Healthcare · Case Study 1
Objective
Plan staffing for upcoming flu season

Flu is among the top causes of death in the U.S. The goal was to help a CDC-style organization plan staffing by understanding who is most at risk, where cases and deaths are concentrated, and when pressure on the system is highest.

Key Questions

  • Which age groups are at highest risk?
  • Which states experience the largest number of flu-related deaths?
  • Which months account for the majority of cases?
65+ age group at highest risk Dec–Mar ≈ 68% of all cases Northeast ≈ 62% of flu-related deaths

Staffing Recommendations

  • Prioritise senior-care staffing and vaccination drives for age 65+.
  • Allocate additional ICU and respiratory staff to Northeastern states during peak months.
  • Create a seasonal staffing ramp-up from December through March based on historical load.
Age Group Risk by Flu Cases
Elderly (65+) show the highest case and mortality rates.
Seasonality – Cases by Month
Cases peak between December and March, guiding seasonal staffing.
Regional Flu Deaths
Northeastern states account for most flu-related deaths.

Rockbuster Online Transition

Streaming · Case Study 2
Objective
Use movie rental data to guide online launch

Rockbuster Stealth wanted to leverage its existing licenses to launch an online video rental service. The analysis focused on subscription geography, customer value, and rental behaviour to shape the marketing and pricing strategy.

Key Insights

  • Average rental rate is $2.98 per movie.
  • Top 5 customers by annual sales are from Turkey, Mexico, USA, India, and China.
  • India and China together account for about 37% of Rockbuster customers.

Recommendations

  • Introduce “2 movies for $6” style bundles to increase revenue per transaction.
  • Build an exclusive rewards program for top-spending customers in priority countries.
  • Allocate more advertising budget to India and China where customer counts are highest.

Instacart Marketing Strategy

Retail · Case Study 3
Objective
Use sales and customer profiles to refine marketing

The goal was to understand geographic spread, income segments, family structures, age, and shopping patterns in order to design more targeted campaigns and in-store strategies.

Key Insights

  • Southern US has the highest number of customers (~10.8M).
  • Middle-income customers account for nearly 50% of all sales.
  • Married parents generate about 70% of sales.
  • Middle-class married parents alone account for about 10.6M orders.
  • Friday and Saturday are the busiest days of the week.

Recommendations

  • Focus merchandising and promotions on middle-income families, especially married parents.
  • Strengthen single-adult offers to grow the second largest demographic.
  • Expand and promote produce and fresh items, especially near expiry discount racks.
  • Introduce weekday lunch deals (e.g., $5 sandwiches) to boost weekday and low-income traffic.
  • Run young-adult-focused campaigns across social channels, with budget-friendly, trend-aware items.

Pig E-Bank Churn Analysis

Banking · Case Study 4
Objective
Understand why customers are leaving

Using customer demographics and behavioural data, I built customer profiles and a decision tree to identify which segments are most likely to churn.

Key Insights

  • No strong correlation between income level and churn.
  • 60% of churned customers are female.
  • About 30% of German customers are leaving.
  • 50% of middle-aged customers (40–65) churn.
  • Average account balance is higher for churned customers (90k vs 73k).
  • 70% of churn comes from inactive users.

Recommendations

  • Launch targeted retention campaigns for middle-aged and German customers.
  • Prioritise outreach to inactive high-balance accounts with personalised offers.
  • Use the decision tree model to flag high-risk customers for early intervention.

Zomato Restaurant Analytics

Food Tech · Case Study 6
Objective
Help restaurants succeed in Bengaluru

For Zomato, I analysed restaurant locations, cuisines, pricing and ratings to advise potential clients on how to position their restaurants in Bengaluru’s competitive food scene.

Key Analytics

  • Most successful restaurants are located in the south-east of central Bengaluru.
  • BTM and Koramangala are major hotspots; Koramangala blocks 4–7 alone hold about 21% of listed restaurants.
  • Over 1000 restaurants have ratings of 4.5+, indicating intense competition.
  • Most common cuisines are North Indian and Continental, but the most liked dishes are cocktails, mocktails, pasta, burgers, salads, and pizza.
  • Higher price does not automatically mean higher rating; the correlation is weak (R² ≈ 0.098).
  • Restaurants with online ordering are noticeably more popular.

Recommendations

  • Choose locations like Koramangala / BTM, but be prepared to compete on both food and service speed.
  • Lean into bar / pub / Italian concepts with strong cocktail and mocktail menus.
  • Don’t rely solely on low pricing near tech hubs—customers pay for quality.
  • Make online ordering a core channel, not an afterthought.
